Leadership

As in every industry, we face challenge and change almost constantly. For us, a leader in the printing industry, it comes in many guises: The challenge of competing with on-line media for example, keeping abreast of changing technologies, managing squeezed margins, and the demands derived from ecologically driven issues.

Value

We operate our business by reinvesting profits to ultimately derive greater value for our customers. We can only succeed by sharing the added value with our stakeholders.

Sustainable

The environmental issue is here to stay. And so are we. As an established leader in the UK printing industry we have been incorporating sustainable solutions within our printing and business operations, for years.

Customer Service

Flexibility is critical. Our approach is to understand customer needs and to deliver the service that meet those needs.

Our customer account managers and production controllers are allocated to customers on the basis of relevant knowledge, personal chemistry and experience.

Customer teams provide a mix of technical, commercial and industry knowledge.

Main board directors lead all of our main customer teams.

We encourage Service Level Agreements to clarify customer expectations, provide performance targets and ensure that feedback is specific, structured and consistent.

Reviews of performance are regular and concentrate on action planning and continuous improvement.

When performance does not reach required standards the approach is to solve the problem first, then ensure that the learning is translated into future improvement.

As part of stimulating service improvement we regularly update our customers on new ideas and services.

Ultimately we recognise the need to increase value and we therefore place importance on our strategic role where we can contribute towards longer term changes

We operate a Tharsterns system which offers a high degree of flexibility and relevance in adapting MIS to customer needs.

The Benefits of Good Customer Service

Service levels are tailored to customer needs so as to simplify administration, support consistent procedures and processes across the supply chain and meet business needs.

Our customer management structure provides quick access to decision makers.

Reporting drives continuous improvement as well as performance review.

We can offer a wide range of service ‘packages’ depending upon needs. These range from a print co-ordination and total supply role to ad hoc print supplier.

By developing relationships which are successful at both the personal and business level opportunities for cost reduction and value increases are more readily identified.

The Green Route

We recognise that our customers are increasingly concerned about how our production is carried out in order to minimise adverse impacts on the environment. We therefore work together with our customers to provide information which demonstrates responsible management.

Our services therefore include:

Providing information on our relevant accreditations.

Advising on policies which affect the design, material content and manufacturing environment of the customer's products, such as the selection of paper type or the form of packaging selected by the customer.

Assessing with customers the environmental impact of changing to digital print.

Supporting the message of sustainable design.

Informing customers about our plans for changes in manufacturing processes which will reduce environmental and ecological impacts.

Reporting to customer surveys and updates which are incorporated into customer broader analyses of responses to environmental issues.
